FACS Foundation

Family and Children’s Services is among the largest child and family serving agencies in the Niagara region. Each year, thousands of children are served by our child protection programs, family counselling centre and our community programs.

Many of the children we serve are among the most disadvantaged in the community facing hardships such as abuse, neglect, family violence, poverty and other serious family troubles. Their lives can be difficult and their futures uncertain.

We believe that regardless of family or financial circumstances, every child should have a chance for a positive and happy childhood, have the opportunity to reach their potential as individuals and be supported in achieving a positive and productive future.

The Foundation for Family and Children’s Services was established to support FACS in its work by supporting those initiatives that do NOT receive regular government funding but provide important enrichments and opportunities to the children and youth served by FACS, and to enhance FACS’ ability to provide service through capital and other improvements.

The Foundation is a registered charity with its own board of directors dedicated to raising funds in the community to provide summer camp, post secondary education opportunities, capital enhancements and other projects and programs to benefit FACS and the children, youth and families we serve.

The joy of summer camp, the opportunity to realize the dream of post secondary education – while these types of programs do not receive government funding, they have the power to change lives and set kids on the path to a brighter future.

You can support the Foundation in its work by making a donation (we accept memorial gifts and those in honour of); attending, supporting or organizing a fund raising event; or considering a planned or estate gift such as a bequest in your will or a gift of life insurance. Volunteer with the Foundation or become a Foundation Board Member.
